Privacy Policy

Qubecsense Water shows the water level and status of tanks fitted with Qubecsense sensors, sends alerts, and lets authorised users set up and manage those tanks and devices.

• Account information: your name, email address and password (stored by our server in protected form), and your phone number if you add it. If you choose “Continue with Google”, Google gives us your verified email address and name. We never receive your Google password.
• Tank and device data: readings sent by your sensors (distance, level %, status, signal strength, uptime, device ID, firmware version, Wi-Fi network name and last-seen time), tank names and configuration, history of readings, and alerts raised.
• Push notification token: a Firebase Cloud Messaging token identifying your phone so we can send alerts.
• Sharing information: email addresses of people you give access to your tanks, and the access you grant.
• Flow-meter token: if an administrator enters a flow-meter (NBSense) API token for an account, it is stored on our server to show that account’s flow data.
• Data stored on your phone only: your session, theme choice, tank volumes you enter, and locations you create. These stay on your device and are removed if you uninstall the app or clear its data.
• Basic technical data: standard server logs (such as IP address, time and requests made) and crash or diagnostic information needed to keep the service running.

• Camera: only to scan a device QR code when adding a tank. Images are not saved or uploaded.
• Bluetooth and nearby devices: only to find and set up a new sensor on your Wi-Fi. We do not use Bluetooth to track your location.
• Location (Android 11 and below): Android requires this permission for Bluetooth scanning on older versions. We do not collect or store your location.
• Notifications: to deliver tank and complaint alerts. You can turn them off in Android settings.
• Internet: to talk to our servers.

• To create your account, sign you in and keep you signed in.
• To show your tank levels, history and alerts and to send notifications.
• To let you set up devices, share tanks and manage settings.
• To keep the service secure, prevent misuse and fix problems.
• To respond to support requests.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

• Service providers that help us run the app: Google (Google Sign-In and Firebase Cloud Messaging for notifications) and our hosting provider. They process data only to provide those services.
• People you share with: anyone you give access to a tank can see that tank’s data.
• Administrators of your organisation’s account: can see the tanks and users they manage.
• Legal reasons: if the law requires it, or to protect rights, safety or the service.

Data is sent between the app and our servers over encrypted (HTTPS) connections, and passwords are stored in hashed form. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We keep account and tank data while your account is active and for as long as needed to provide the service or meet legal obligations. To delete your account and associated data, email us at the address below from your registered email, or ask your administrator. Push tokens are removed when you sign out.

• Turn notifications off in Android settings.
• Revoke camera or Bluetooth permission in Android settings.
• Ask us to access, correct or delete your information.
• Sign out at any time from More → Sign out.

The app is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their information.

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed. Significant changes will be communicated in the app or by email.
